MS defeat ~ epeeblade
I was tired this morning, but feeling better than I have in a few days. Until 11. At 11 I was working on a spreadsheet, and suddenly was exhausted. And dizzy. As in had to put my head down and breathe for a few minutes. And then life my head up by degrees and acclimatize to the new elevation. Eventually the dizziness passed and I could work again, but not before I startled one of my podmates. The tiredness has not.

Went to my pedorthist for 3:15 and got new insoles. This has been a highpoint of my day.

No. Really. It has.

Hubby picked me up after my appointment, and we stopped for drugs and a bit of food. They are currently repaving the road in front of our house. It took us forever to get into our driveway because the road crew is there with big trucks and things. The vibrations all evening have been murder on my head and ears. If all our windows survive unscathed I will be astounded. Oh, and I think the animals have been traumatised by it as well. Yippee.

They damn well better be doing garbage pickup tomorrow or I will have words with council. There was no mention of a lack of garbage pickup. It's July. My animals are upset. I'm tired and can't sleep for the racket. The words shall be interesting.

Onto the Windows/Mac thing: Last night the media machine (Windows) spontaneously reset the personal settings that we use on it. A couple of reboots later, it spontaneously returned them. No idea what happened there. Tonight, I booted up my Mac. No Airport. No networking of any description. Several reboots of my machine, a couple of the router, and hubby and I doing everything we can think of on both ends of our network... and suddenly I had network.

Does anyone have any idea if those two things could conceivably be related? It seems awfully random if they aren't, but the odds of it hitting two different OSs are small. Right?

Now to watch some Doctor Who and try to relax. If my teeth don't rattle out of their sockets first.

I had fun. Loads and oodles of fun. I think I mentioned that in here already.

Somehow though, I still ended up having a massive attack Sunday/Monday. I know I only got about 4.5 hours sleep Saturday night, but that does not explain the exhaustion that I had Sunday morning, and how that got so bad by 7pm I gave up and went to bed. Where I proceeded to stay until almost 5pm last night. I watched a few hours of TV at that point, staying upright with great difficulty at times, so that I would have some sort of a chance of a good night's sleep last night. Which turned out to not be a problem at all... I slept right through from 9pm to 5am. And then dragged myself out of bed by the edges of my fingernails.

I'm at work, and wondering if this was such a good idea. I'm still exhausted, and my vision is a bit... it's hard to explain. The best way I can describe how I feel at times like this is that I'm slightly out of phase with the rest of the universe. If you can understand that, then welcome to my life. *grin*

Hopefully the coffee and Advil kick in soon and I can be relatively productive today.

And no, I did not drive. Hubby, who is suffering the after effects of a migraine (he worked form home yesterday while I slept, and made sure I got fed and things like that) drove. Hopefully his caffeine and Advil has kicked in as well.

Gakked from [info] sazandra.... Cats 'exploit' humans by purring.

As hubby put it, "they needed a study to tell them that?"

Back home now. I was tired and a bit wobbly, and B didn't have anything she wanted to see today, so we headed out about 11:30.

Got to see a lot of people this weekend who I haven't seen in a long time. I miss you all! Wish my health was allowing for more visiting these days.

There's been a lot that I enjoyed this weekend. Actors and Masq and conversations. Lots to experience and contemplate.

I am now going to rest up from the drive home. And figure out what I am going to do about dinner.

Stayed up late catching up with B, [info]seanchaidh, and [info]plaidlibrarian in the bar.

I only had one beer last night, but only had 4 hours sleep.

Am awake, but tired and a bit dizzy.

Hopefully food and water get me going again, because today is the day I don't have a room after 11 to rest up in if I need it.

And I was so careful yesterday, too. Bugger.

A heck of a storm has blown in. It was bright outside at 6:30 when I got up. This photo was taken about ten minutes ago, and it's gotten darker and rainier I swear. Fortunately I'm in no need to walk outside right now.

I may head out to the dealer's room and see what they have going on. I'm starting to feel awake and wanting to move around. Maybe there's some cool stuff down there, who knows?

I'd post pictures of things other than my room using my laptop camera, but I just realised I forgot to bring a cable or card reader for the Kodak. So general con photos will have to wait until I am back home and can load them. Unless someone in the hotel has a reader I can borrow...

A nice sleep in (yes, I call 6:43 am "sleeping in"); several cups of pod coffee (NOT ENOUGH COFFEE! Good thing I packed more.); a packed breakfast of cereal, dried cranberries, and almond milk, with some peanuts for protein; catching up on the latest Buffy Omnibus; part of an episode of Due South on TV (analog TV on a big screen and no way to adjust for the distortion made Paul Gross look like he was 5' tall by 3' wide); tech support for a faulty internet modem; and now am downloading COE 5 (which should take about 3 hours.... high speed internet my *ahem*).

And it's only 9:15. I have nowhere to go until noon because conventions never wake up until noon, apparently. :)

The quiet and relaxing is so worth it. Especially since my last minute, almost-last-of-the-room-block room is frikken huge:

You should see the bathroom. Tub and walk in shower. And more room than one would need to swing a cat or two.

Oh yeah. This is the life.

Who knew coming to a con as a civvie could be this much fun!

I've seen a few wonderful people here this afternoon.... People I haven't seen in ages, and not all of them running around like chickens. B and I had planned to go to opening ceremonies but instead ended up drinking coffee and talking right through it! Met up with S for dinner at an awesome Chinese restaurant across the road from the hotel, and then after more conversation sat in on Larry Stewart Live! which is always a blast.

My plans for tomorrow are to see some actors, perhaps check out some panels, sleep in, and hang out... not necessarily in that or any other order. :)

And now am very tired because I have spent far too long trying to hook up the strange cabled internet to the Mac (someone had disconnected the hub end of the cable), and have had enough wine to counteract copious amounts of caffeine consumed earlier.

On the upside OMG MY ROOM IS TOTALLY AWESOME! For having gotten one of the last rooms in the original round of room allocations, I made out like a bandit. The room is huge, the bathroom has a tub and walk in shower, there's a fridge and coffee maker, and I have 6 pillows for my king sized bed. And it's mine, all mine! Muhahahahaha!

Did I mention I didn't have to mortgage the house to get it too? I am so utterly pleased.

Except with the cabled internet. WTF is up with that? :)

I can't figure out the warning thing, so you're not getting it. I'll just say that this could be TOS or Reboot, depending on your preference of character.

Every once in a while I think that the Meniere's is all in my head.

On really good days, it's like there's nothing wrong. I figure I'm about as normal in all my reactions as everyone else. The good days are rare enough that they still feel surreal, to be honest. The perfectly good days, I mean. They're pretty rare and far between and almost mythical in their elusiveness.

Usually the Meniere's rears it's head on some level. A bit of a wobble here. A blur in the corner of my eye there. There's always something, even if it's not enough to cause a disruption in the grand scheme of the day.

Then there are days where it really hits me how bad it got on numerous occasions.

Like tonight, where I have had a few beer, and a couple glasses of wine, and I'm dead sober. There is no spin. There is no wobble. There is just me enjoying a few beverages and not wanting to pass out, and not getting confused by what I am watching on TV.

Considering that on days that are bad I find myself regretting drinks I haven't had because the dizzy feels awfully like being drunk? I'll take this as the tiny victory it is.

This week has been busy. Two days at work trying to figure out wtf is going on with the sale. Three days at [info]slb44's, at the Shaw, shopping, running around. Today, market and some yard sales, and then finishing up painting in the bathroom.

Yes, we are still working on the bathroom. It got delayed a bit with real life and weather and health, but the trim is finally painted, and accessories are getting filled in. It should be complete pretty darned soon.

Tonight is going to depend on someone getting back to me about possible plans; if not, then staying in and hanging out, which is also always a good time.

Now back to straightening out my spine after spending an afternoon painting floor trim. Ow.

I just realised I don't think I did a dedicated post saying that yes, I will be at Polaris this year. I'll be there from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon-ish. I'm going completely civ. Anyone who wants to hook up at any point, let me know. I'm dying to catch up with everyone. :)
